I am a fully qualified Mindfulness Teacher. I teach mindfulness meditation and mindful yoga classes for adults and teens. I teach mindfulness courses and workshops in schools for pupils aged 11-18, staff and parents.
I am based near Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I run public classes, private 1 to 1 classes, workshops and courses in mindfulness.
My mindfulness teaching builds upon my experience as a yoga and meditation teacher. I teach people of all ages and abilities yoga. I have been a practitioner of yoga and meditation for 20 years, having come to it accidentally in the middle of a stressful career. I found sanctuary on the yoga mat and tools to use in everyday life off the mat.
I hold a full teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga (2007-2011)
I am a mother of teenagers and concerned about the rising trends of increasing mental health problems in young people. I believe it is important to equip young people to deal with the challenges of growing up in a demanding modern world. This led me to train to teach mindfulness in schools. I am qualified to teach .b 11-18 mindfulness course and .b Foundations for staff and parents.
I am also a qualified teenyoga teacher which enables me to teach teenagers yoga and mindfulness.
I feel very privileged to be involved in life long learning, because that is what I think mindfulness is. Continuous professional development is a pleasure and a priority.
It makes a difference because it allows us to be in charge of our social and emotional wellbeing, no matter what is happening around us. Regular mindfulness practice gives us the capacity to bounce back from adversity.
I wish I had known about this when I was growing up.
Mindfulness needs to be taught responsibly, by teachers who are well trained with a genuine personal practice embedded into daily life. It is important to me that I deliver authentic, professional mindfulness teaching and so I am grateful that I have good standards to adhere to. The guidelines help people make informed choices about their mindfulness training.
