I have a daily formal moving mindfulness practice and a stiller seated mindfulness practice. This has helped me to bring mindfulness into my yoga teaching – being more present as a teacher and delivering yoga in a more sensitive and embodied way.
I teach mindfulness integrated into the practice of hatha and ashtanga vinyasa yoga in Bromley, Kent. This allows students the freedom to become more aware of their body, how they are feeling and how things subtly change moment to moment. Compassion and kindness are embodied into this way of being and are the qualities that bring this practice alive.
Practising mindfulness in yoga can help to slow down enough so that we can become more in tune with how we feel in each moment, making wiser and kinder choices for ourselves and others.
